Task Description:

This task was based on writing letter to our family at home and receiving it as the family at home. I really enjoyed doing this task as it made me actually feel like a person in the army.

Myths and legend

 Task Description:
 For week 3 and 4 we have been focusing on Myths and legend. This task is really all about myths , we just had to read the text that was given and complete the questions. For our create task we choose to record 2 myths story and make a video , it was really fun and exciting to do.

How to become a good/better learner

 Task Description:
This task explain how to be a good learner. We just had to complete this task and basically post it on our blogs.

Sense Making

WALT: Interpret and make sense of what we read

Task Description:
This task was based on Sense making and infer from the passage. We had to complete this task by answering the question and posting it on our blog.

Make a point

WALT: Make connections to the wider world

Task Description:
In this task we had to focus on doing our writing strategy and keeping it to a high standard. In this task we did the TEE which means topic sentence , example and explanation. We were so lucky and gratefully that our teacher made this work nice and simple for the start of the term.

Whats the point??

WALT: Identify the authors purpose for writing

Task Description:
 For this task we had to write down what we thought was the message behind this story. We also had to figure out how we can make this writing more interesting and joyful to read. In this task we had to pretty much tell them our suggestions.

SCI- FI ( Science Fiction)

WALT: infer and make judgement s about a text.
Task Description: This task was all about Science Fiction , and what it means and that sort of stuff. We had to read the book answer the question and complete a create task which was fun. I enjoyed doing this task as I learnt a lot.

What are the importance of Science???

WALT: Write for an academic audience

Task Description: This task was based on our thoughts on what science means to us. So all we had to write for this is a introduction three body paragraphs and a conclusion. I found this just right and I also had fun with it.

WHAT IS SCIENCE?????????

WALT: Synthesise information from a range of texts

Task Description : As you guys might know Term 3 is all about Science. All we  had to do in this task was read a couple of stuff about him and answer the question "We then had to make a fact file which is just a slide with facts about him like , for an example his childhood and how he had past.

Is there really something in the water????

On July the 22nd the start of term 3 school started. The topic for Term 3 is there's something in the water or He mea i roto i te wai. It was all about the sorts of creature that is in the sea.

Team 1 teachers presented a video about S.O.F.A which stands for solutions for animals. First S.O.F.A got a call from somebody, saying they were worried about the sea creatures or sea animals at the Pt England Reserve. So S.O.F.A got into their
car and technically flew to the Pt England Reserve. Soon S.O.F.A arrived at the reserve and drove into the water. They spotted sea animals like dolphins, stingrays, fish, whales, and jellyfish.

The Team 2 teachers, Ms Telso, Miss Moran, Mrs Carter and Ms Gaston presented a video of them. The video was about how they walked all the way down to Tahuna Torea Reserve. They fed the ducks on the grass then they followed a path and carried on walking. As they were walking they used there magnifying glass and looked around. Soon they came to pass a giant pohutukawa tree, they had a look at the tree and carried on walking. A few minutes later they walked to the beach and started looking at the shells and rock pools.

When Team 3 Teacher presented there video it was all about a girl who was tired of keeping the moana and awa nice and clean. So she went on a journey to see who could help her. After a while along came sea creatures who asked to help her but she said no for very good reasons. There was more in the video but that's all I have to say. What the video is trying to say is keep our seas and rivers clean as it could become polluted and the world and become a different place.

The Team 4 teachers also presented a video at assembly. In the video they went down to the Pt England Reserve. They talked about plankton, muscle, crabs, and seagulls. Ms Parrant also explained, what all these sea creatures eat. The muscles eat the plankton the crabs eat the muscles and the seagulls eat the crabs but what eats the seagulls.

Team 5 ( the best team ) always does a life stream. They sang a song on what Cell an all that sort of stuff is and what it means. BTW there song was so amazing it was so catchy and a very heart bumping song. Here at team 5 our team main focus is on science, because in college that is a subject and we have to know as much as we could to make life easier.

Should we have longer school breaks??

Cricket is a sport that is normally played during summer. Cricket is a sport that includes a bat and a ball and other equipment..

What is Fielding?
Fielding is very simple. When the bowler bowls and the batter hits it you are to stop the ball from going to a boundary. If you catch the ball the batter is out. You can also stop them by getting more points by diving for the ball or just stopping it from going over the boundary. Fielding is probably the easiest position in cricket.

What is Batting?
Batting is just hitting the ball and trying to get as much runs as you can. For an example if you hit it into the crowd that will be a six if it is over the boundary that will be a four. There are different techniques on how to hold and hit with a bat. Batting could be very hard if you are to face a very hard bowler. A batter also wears helmets and leg pads and other stuff to keep them safe because the ball is very hard.

What is Bowling?
Bowling can be a bit a bit hard because you can get a few wides and that will be points off your team which can be disappointing. There would be a line in the middle of a ball , to make the ball have more grip. The Ball is very hard so if it hits you , you can get a big fat bruise. Which is why you wear the safety stuff.

School is a place where children go to get a good Education. In New Zealand children from ages 5 - 10 yrs are in primary school , Then ages 11 - 13 is Intermediate. Then ages 13 - 18 is High School and then you enter University . NZ Law States say that children must attend school / High school from Monday - Friday ...

Body Paragraph - 1 : What Do Students learn here at school?
Here at school we learn Numeracy , Literacy , Technology and others too. These are the main subjects students learn about in school. In Numeracy we learn how to count , Subtract , Multiply and Addition. In Reading we learn how to pronounce words sound it out and meaning of that word. In Writing we write all sorts of different types to make it more interesting.

Body Paragraph - 2 : What is Friendship ?
Friendship is something that is hard and easy for some Students . Friendship is hard because not all students fit in because the get bullied , Mocked and Frighten at most times. Friendship is easy for Students that act Cool , Think there Tough and like to show off.

At school when your with alot of Friends you start to show of and backstab people and even snob friends your close with. What i mean by snob your friends is when you know there close to you and they say hi to you you just snob them. Because you are showing off and because you’re trying to fit in with the others .

Friendship is something important especially in your own life , You have to be secure and sure that your Friends are trustworthy and that they trust you and you trust them too .


Body Paragraph - 3 : What is Technology?


Technology is where you go and learn about different subjects like Robotics , Cooking and more . Did you know that it is important to use devices like Chromebooks, Imacs , Ipads and many more. Some Schools are very lucky because they have devices and all that sort of stuff, but other schools don’t have devices they use scrap books and pencils to do writing. They also use normal books that have there reading text for there task to read. Other schools that have devices read online books and complete there Reading task that is online...


Conclusion :

So that’s what school is really all about. Don’t change yourself just because you wanna fit in with all the other cool girls.Friendship is Important and make sure that you trust your friends and that they trust you too .


Advice : Make sure you’re not bullying others and be responsible for your own acts...
