Task Description:
In this task we had to focus on doing our writing strategy and keeping it to a high standard. In this task we did the TEE which means topic sentence , example and explanation. We were so lucky and gratefully that our teacher made this work nice and simple for the start of the term.

What are the importance of Science???

Task Description: This task was based on our thoughts on what science means to us. So all we had to write for this is a introduction three body paragraphs and a conclusion. I found this just right and I also had fun with it.

Is there really something in the water????

On July the 22nd the start of term 3 school started. The topic for Term 3 is there's something in the water or He mea i roto i te wai. It was all about the sorts of creature that is in the sea.

Team 1 teachers presented a video about S.O.F.A which stands for solutions for animals. First S.O.F.A got a call from somebody, saying they were worried about the sea creatures or sea animals at the Pt England Reserve. So S.O.F.A got into their
car and technically flew to the Pt England Reserve. Soon S.O.F.A arrived at the reserve and drove into the water. They spotted sea animals like dolphins, stingrays, fish, whales, and jellyfish.

The Team 2 teachers, Ms Telso, Miss Moran, Mrs Carter and Ms Gaston presented a video of them. The video was about how they walked all the way down to Tahuna Torea Reserve. They fed the ducks on the grass then they followed a path and carried on walking. As they were walking they used there magnifying glass and looked around. Soon they came to pass a giant pohutukawa tree, they had a look at the tree and carried on walking. A few minutes later they walked to the beach and started looking at the shells and rock pools.

When Team 3 Teacher presented there video it was all about a girl who was tired of keeping the moana and awa nice and clean. So she went on a journey to see who could help her. After a while along came sea creatures who asked to help her but she said no for very good reasons. There was more in the video but that's all I have to say. What the video is trying to say is keep our seas and rivers clean as it could become polluted and the world and become a different place.

The Team 4 teachers also presented a video at assembly. In the video they went down to the Pt England Reserve. They talked about plankton, muscle, crabs, and seagulls. Ms Parrant also explained, what all these sea creatures eat. The muscles eat the plankton the crabs eat the muscles and the seagulls eat the crabs but what eats the seagulls.

Team 5 ( the best team ) always does a life stream. They sang a song on what Cell an all that sort of stuff is and what it means. BTW there song was so amazing it was so catchy and a very heart bumping song. Here at team 5 our team main focus is on science, because in college that is a subject and we have to know as much as we could to make life easier.

Task Description: For today task we had to pick an article from the kiwi kids News  and read. When we finished we completed a Task that out teacher made for us. On our second to last page we had to create our own News paper using Newspaper Generator.

So we had pentagons paper that we had to fill in with narrative words. We came up with very good ones and useful ones.

How to become a Leader

How to be a good leader.

Intro: What makes a good leader? A good leader respects others, gives good instructions and takes part. This essay will teach you how to do all of these things.

Body one: A good leader is respectful. A leader shows respect by using their manners when want or need something. A good leader also respects people by showing respect one another.

Body two: A good leader is Responsible. A leader can be responsible to one another by taking care of somebody that is younger than them. A good responsible leader can be responsible to someone by showing respect.

Body Three: A good leader is loyal. A loyal leader would be supporting each other no matter what. A good loyal leader is also loyal by being faithful and true to everyone.


Conclusion: So all this piece of writing is basically about you becoming a leader. These are all of my tips on how to become leader. A Good Leader Is Respectful, Responsible and Loyal.

We have been using a map to find our way around Pt England School.If a visitor asked you how to get to Mr Somerville office would you know what you say?

swimming writing

First of all we got change to our togs and took our school uniform off. We have to wear it after we come back from the pools. After we got change to our togs we have to sit on the mat with our plastic bag towel ,underwear  and school uniform.Next we had a little talk about walking there sensible and not playing where the carpark is and just to look if there is a car coming.After that our three instructor Jed, Kat and Jess was talking  about the safety rules and talking about the beach and the lake. Jess was talking about what could be under the water that could hurt your feet. There could be shells and rocks that could hurt your feet.Later on we go and have our shower then get in our groups. I was with Jed we were learning how to do arm circles and freestyle we were also floating in lines.In the end we go and change back into our uniforms and go on that little stage and went there  until everyone has came. The people who came 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th and 10th. Gets dojo points.

Omaru Creek

First of all we had walked with a buddy to the Omaru creek in our literacy line.

It was so smelly  that I had to block my nose with my t-shirt and I couldn't breath properly. We had to kneel down and have a look at the sewage water it looked very disgusting and had a dark blue black color. Later on we had got up and had a little tiny walk. We had got in our line in our two buddies and walked back. My buddy was Zamera.

Hello my name is Sonnia and I am a Year 5.  My teachers are Mrs Buchanan, Miss West and also Miss Timmi. They are all lovely. My culture is Tongan and I have quite a few people in my family. My favorite food is KFC, McDonalds, Bombay blues and also the subway cookies.  I enjoy hanging out with my friends and I also play netball, cricket, tag, rugby league and also touch. My goals for 2017 are improving myself in reading, writing and maths and also to be confident.
